THE BOWLS section of the British Games Club added a new twist to its annual Fun Day by staging a three-hour triples competition.
The idea was to complete the tournament in one afternoon – and members had to be on their toes to make it work.
The competition was run on a round-robin basis, with the team recording the best overall score declared the winners.
That honour went to the trio of Alan Cliffe, Stuart Lorimer and skip Chris Baker, who each received a bottle of wine for their efforts.
Our picture above shows (from left) Alan, Stuart and Chris clutching their prizes, which were presented by bowls captain David White, the man tasked with keeping tracks of the afternoon’s scores.
